What is Supplemental Insurance?

It’s important to ask yourself:
  • Am I prepared financially to pay medical expenses that no other insurance covers?
  • Would my family have enough money to pay funeral expenses and cover my financial commitments if I were to die?
If you answered no to either of those questions, you might be interested in supplemental insurance.

Supplemental insurance is designed to enhance, not replace your already existing coverage. Your group health insurance is a solid bedrock of protection, but many major medical plans do not cover all of the expenses related to accidents and sicknesses, such as co-payments, deductibles, travel & lodging expenses, etc.

The advantages of supplemental insurance add up:

  • Plan premiums can be paid through the convenience of payroll deduction.
  • Most plans offer the choice of insuring your spouse and dependents.
  • Most plans are portable and can continue if you change jobs or retire.
With this enrollment, your employer is offering one or more supplemental insurance plans from Colonial Life. Be sure to carefully review the information on these plans to see if they’re right for you.
